European Vacation 1

Windmill Man!
Windmill Man!

Greetings!

Internet access is still on/off for a few days, but I have a chance tonight to post some pictures and write a quick update!

We are having a fabulous time!  Amsterdam was wonderful, even if the stairs to our rooms were steep and high and many floors!  But we have been on the road a few days, and have had great luck finding nice B&Bs and local meals, and have already taken a canal boat tour of Amsterdam, visited a Dutch village, and enjoyed Belgium beer and chocolate in Bruges.  We visited the Madonna and Child sculpture in Bruges that was the featured statue in Monuments Men.  We have Passed through Arnhem and Nijmegen and Eindhoven (scenes of Operation Market-Garden, featured in A Bridge Too Far).  We have driven through tight, narrow tourist laden streets, and had a ball!  Tomorrow we head to Dunkerque and Calais, and then head south toward Verdun and our first week stay near Dijon.
